You build production AI applications for NZ businesses. Voice, RAG, agents, evals. End-to-end product ownership, not just a model.

What you'd do
Ship production AI features for paying NZ customers. Not POCs, not demos — features that someone uses every day to do their actual job better.
You'll work across our portfolio: AiTearoa CRM, RockControl's H&S platform, customer-specific builds. Some weeks are deep on prompt engineering and evals; others are systems work and integrations; some are talking directly to customers to understand the workflow you're about to remove.
You'd be good for this if
- You've shipped something to production that uses an LLM in anger — not a prototype. - You're comfortable with TypeScript, Postgres, and the Anthropic/OpenAI SDKs. - You think about evals before you write the prompt. - You can talk to a customer without translating it through three managers. - You like Aotearoa. You want to live and work here.
Responsibilities
- Own AI features end-to-end — design, build, evaluate, ship, maintain
- Write strong evals that gate prompt promotion (no untested prompts to prod)
- Pair with consultants on customer engagements; understand their workflow first-hand
- Contribute to the AiTearoa platform itself — schema, RLS, performance, UX
What you bring
- 3+ years building production software with TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with at least one LLM provider in production
- Comfortable with Supabase / Postgres / Next.js stack
- NZ-based or relocating; work-rights or NZ citizen / resident
Nice to have
- Experience with voice (Deepgram / ElevenLabs / similar)
- RAG / vector search in production
- Tool-use / agent design experience
- A side project we'd enjoy hearing about
